When people think about Andrea Jaegerthey usually imagine one of the best tennis players in the world. While she certainly made her mark on the game of tennis, it is what she has done outside the court that she is most proud of. Recently, Andrea Jaeger was featured in The Morning Star Journal, discussing just how important her faith is to her. While lots of people lead lives of faith, she strives to turn faith into action, using her faith to make a positive difference in the world. Now, she is encouraging others to follow in her footsteps and do the same thing.
Jaeger Views Faith as a Gift
There are far too many people who take faith for granted, and Andrea Jaeger is different in that she views faith as a gift. This comes from the way she was raised. Growing up, her parents had to work long hours in Chicago. a restaurant, which meant they worked most of their hours at night and on the weekends. Often, they did not get back until 4:00 AM, which meant that she was unable to go to church. Even though she understood, it meant that her faith was that much more important to her, and she would not take it for granted.
The Discovery of a Childhood Photo
One evening, when her parents were at work, she was playing with her siblings. She was hiding in a closet during a game of hide-and-seek, and she opened a drawer to find a photograph of a baby. Now, this baby was horribly disfigured, swollen, and badly bruised. She did not recognize the person in the photo, but she would later realize that it was a picture of her. Her delivery did not go smoothly, and the doctor had to use suction and forces to get her out safely. While she made a full recovery, she understands that there are lots of other children who are not that lucky. This only served to strengthen her faith.
Living a Life of Actionable Faith
Now, Andrea Jaeger Strives to live a life of actionable faith. This still comes with its fair share of challenges. Jaeger believes that the universe has a lot of mysteries that still have to be uncovered, and it is our faith that keeps us strong. Actionable faith also means Being aware of the gifts that we have received, using them to foster a stronger connection with others as well as our spirituality, and understanding that our gifts come with a tremendous amount of responsibility.
Using Actionable Faith To Help Others
For more than 37 years, Jaeger has been running a children’s cancer foundation. It has been her main passion, and she feels called to do it. She works hard to help children in shelters, schools, orphanages, and hospitals. She uses her actionable Faith to guide the way, putting a tremendous amount of effort into listening and receiving the messages of others before using that message to guide her actions. The Little Star Foundation provides quality long-term care for children, providing them with an opportunity to live better lives. It serves as a shining example of the positive difference that actionable faith can make in the world around us.
