Thumb Brewery to host slate of weekend entertainment, headlined by comedy show


Thumb Brewery is hoping to provide customers with a few laughs and good music this weekend.

This Friday through Sunday, each night will feature different entertainment options. Friday night’s headline will be a comedy show, while Saturday and Sunday will be headlined by live music entertainment.

“People will have a blast, it will be a good time,” owner operator Lauren Formicola said.

The comedy show will be headlined by comedian Soo Ra. Ra, originally from Michigan, has opened for other comedians in the past. She performs all over the US and has made appearances on podcasts and BuzzFeed.


Other performing acts during the show will feature Michigan natives Nick Kelley and Daniel Grinnell. Kelley was recently the winner of the 2022 Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle “Detroit to LA Competition” and has been with other nationally known comedians such as Ron Taylor and Alton “Boogie” ” Williams. Grinnell hosts and produces his own podcast, “New Way Wrap Up,” where he talks about the Detroit comedy scene.

The free show starts at 8 pm and reservations are recommended to secure a patio seat. As this is an adult show, so attendees will need to be 21 and over.

“We’ve done them in the past and people love them,” Formicola said. “It is popular so we do ask for reservations before the event so that people can have a spot.”

On Saturday, local band from Port Hope, Huron Out, will be performing outside on the brewery’s patio from 8-10 pm The duo plays music from the 60s all the way to the 80s with some current music included as well.

Sunday will feature Roger Lens, better known as Detroit Dirty Dog Blues. The Detroit native is a quadriplegic who performs the harmonica around the Detroit area.

“People come out and enjoy a good time and some good brews,” Formicola said. “We have our brews brewed right here in Caseville. We even have a new beer that’s coming in on Wednesday that people have been asking for.”
